Severely Dissapointed

I had my truck towed to this place because it was advertised in the Yellow Pages that they offer free towing if you have the work completed at their shop. When they called me and told me the price I was floored. It was $600 to have a fuel pump replaced. The price for the pump was almost $300 and the person on the phone informed me that was the cheapest price he could find. When I looked online I immediately found the part for under $150 and it could have been delivered overnight. When I went in to pay my bill I had to tell them to take the "free towing" charge off the bill. It should say, "Free but only if you catch it on the bill." Two days later I periodically started to smell gas and within a week it was evident the smell was coming from the back of my truck and by then a stain was forming on the concrete underneath my gas tank wherever I went. When I took the vehicle back to them they checked it out and said it was due to the gas lines being old and it was going to cost me another $100-200 to have "sections of the line" replaced. When I informed him I didn't have a gas leak when I brought it in I was told that "maybe" they could have loosened something in the process of working on the tank but it didn't change the fact that they are old. Subsequently I did not let them do anymore work on my vehicle and I will be seeking a new place to have any repairs completed. Do not take your vehicle to this shop! They will overcharge you for the parts and if they can come up with any excuse for the vehicle not operating correctly later they will try and charge you for more work.
